Red Cliffs Lookout

We've made our way to Mildura where the traditional custodians of the land are the Latji Latji people. We'll hang out here while we wait for the carrier pigeons to deliver our mail. Plenty to do while we wait, though.

Today we visited the small town of Red Cliffs, about 16km out of Mildura. Just out of town we spotted a sign to the Red Cliffs Lookout and decided to head out for a look.

Although the clue's in the name, I was curious about what the Red Cliffs Lookout would look out to exactly, given the landscape for thousands of kilometres in this part of the country is as flat as the proverbial. But we followed the signs, weaving our way through vineyards, orchards and roadside fruit stalls, eventually coming to the Red Cliffs Lookout car park. I harnessed up the Labs and we made our way into the mallee scrub. After a short walk we came across this lovely view of red cliffs. Who'd have thought?
