Yesterday we headed about 40km north west of Echuca to explore parts of Gunbower Island and the Torrumbarry Weir. Gunbower Island is a stretch of pastural land intertwined with waterways, marshes, lakes and the Torrumbarry Weir - a massive water storage facility that irrigates land for thousands of kilometers.
We didn't venture into the Gunbower Forest as it's part of a national park. And judging the size and quantity of roo poo lying around, it wouldn't have been a good idea to let the Labs loose. Nevertheless, we were able to catch plenty of glimpses of the beauty and diversity of the important ecosystems forming part of the Murray-Darling Basin.
Great selections of pics to illustrate some of the variety of river landscapes
That is beautiful. yes, our waterways are something to treasure and preserve. Looks like good weather too. Excellent.
More fantastic photos Barb. And it looks like the weather gods are on your side too!
