More about the whale

Further to yesterday's post, readers might be interested in this update from the Eden community Facebook group:

"Good news about the humpback whale spotted in Eden yesterday.

The whale is not a baby but a juvenile. An independent 3-5 year old whale and it is perfectly normal (despite being so early in the migration season) for it to be exploring.

While it is sick and covered in more lice than normal, it should hopefully make its way to the Great Barrier Reef. Once there the lice would virtually fall off in the warm water.

Please share the story far and wide as ORCA is hoping to be notified of another sighting as it makes its way up the coast."
