We arrived back in the nation's capital, land of the Ngunnawal people, about a week ago. After several frenzied days catching up with friends; attending appointments; a short family camping trip to the beautiful south coast; and last minute shopping; we're finally able to draw breath. We're camped in the spare room of a generous friend and enjoying the luxury of a big bed and proper bathroom.
It's been an amazing 8 months of travel and we've seen some very beautiful parts of the country. Here are a few fun facts:
Days travelled: 236
Kms travelled: 21,752
Campsites: 72
Trips to Bunnings 397 (roughly)
Vet visits: five
Wildlife casualties: tragically one (a snake)
Max temp reached inside the van: 39 (unpleasant)
Min temp reached inside the van: somewhere below zero (also unpleasant)
Enjoyment factor: immeasurable
So what next? Well, we'll cool our paws in Canberra for a few weeks and then in mid-January, we hit the road again to see some more of this great land.
We wish all our faithful readers a very happy and safe festive season, and hope you'll all continue to share our journey with us when we take off again next year.
Very best wishes from the two Labs, the Penguin and me.
Have a great Christmas. Keep on blogging.. we love it. Hopefully we'll see you down South in 2023
Wow! Those statistics are amazing! We look forward to welcoming you three to Boonwurrung Land at some point!
The looks on their faces! Juddy and Stanley, you look adorable with and without the Christmas ‘extras’. Sounds like an awesome trip, Barb. Have loved reading your blog. Can’t wait to read what you all get up to next.
