I was really touched and delighted when two great friends, Gay and Lynn, made the journey from Canberra in atrocious weather to spend a couple of days with us in Nyngan. The Labs are great companions, but they don't like to discuss current affairs and they can't play cards (it's that opposable thumb issue again), so it was wonderful to have some human company for a couple of days. And the Labs had their own mini-break from me and got to hang out with Jesse and Cody the Finnish Lapphunds ("the Finns") so it was a win-win for all of us.
We did what you do in places like this; we toured the sights (the Big Bogan and the town's museum); we enjoyed coffee and cake (a few times) at the local cafe; and had lunch at the RSL. Gay and Lynn also helped me with my quest to find out about my long lost childhood friend, but that's the subject of another post.
The Labs and I are on our own again now and moving on tomorrow. It's been a lovely few days here in a great caravan park (a big four-paw rating from the Labs) and we're glad we came.
Here's a photo of the three Boganistas and the Biggest of all Bogans.
Good that you've all had a "break" so to speak!
