Big Changes Afoot

A belated Happy New Year to all our loyal blog followers.

The year ahead will be a big one for us and we're busily preparing for our Big Lap, which will kick off in early April. We have a couple of small adventures planned in the meantime, but more about that later.

The really big and important news for all our faithful readers is that we're moving our blog to Facebook, and towards the end of March this website will be shut down. There are various reasons behind this decision, but we won't bore you with them. The most important thing to know is that you'll need to do one or two very small things by March in order to keep reading our updates. But rest assured, it's way simpler than dealing with that pesky Spaces app.

We set up the blog on the Internet nearly three years ago primarily because we have a small number of friends and family who aren't on social media. We know those of you who don't use Facebook or Instagram will keep wanting to know what we're up to, so don't worry, we'll send updates via email to those of you who'd prefer to keep in touch that way.

We love sharing our adventures with all of you so please keep following! Here's how:

  • If you have a Facebook account please send a friend request to us here: https://www.facebook.com/the.lap.of.the.dogs . You'll find our page, complete with all posts and photos going back to when we started travelling in 2022. Plenty of entertainment if you've a few hours with nothing better to do. You'll be able to comment more easily than before and interact with us as you would with any Facebook page. Just make sure you set your account to receive new post notifications so you don’t miss anything exciting. It might take us a little while to get around to accepting all our friend requests (after all, the Labs are almost as popular as the Beatles) so please bear with us.

  • If you just want the photos without the fascinating insight, go to Instagram and search thelapofthedogs to start following.

  • And if you'd really prefer not to use social media at all (we get it!) please send us an email to: beegeedogwalker@gmail.com, or to our private email account if you know it, and we’ll add you to our exclusive email list. Unfortunately attachment size limits will restrict the photos we can include in emails, but we'll do our best to select the really good ones.

Please get in touch via email if you have any problems connecting with us. We're keen to make sure that everyone who enjoys following our adventures can keep doing so. To give you a taste of what's ahead, we have our annual friends-and-dogs gathering at Kioloa coming up, followed by a few days in beautiful Bermagui. Then, just for something different, there's a couple of weeks in Vietnam and Cambodia to look forward to (the Labs’ passports have expired so they’re staying home). And very shortly after touching down from Vietnam, we're off on our Big Lap, and that'll take us almost to the end of the year. So there's plenty of adventure to be had and we really hope you'll join us.

We'll leave you with some photos of our summer with family and friends, and see you on the other side.
