Bermagui

Today, the three humans and four dogs in the household piled into a couple of vehicles and went on a road trip. It was Juddy's first proper outing since her surgery and she was very happy to be out and about.

We headed north along the highway to Bermagui, via Quaama (pronounced Korma, like the curry) and Cobargo, in Yuin country.

We treated ourselves to some extremely good fish and chips at the Bermi marina (followed by a cheeky ice cream) and then made our way up to the headland to check out the "Sculpture Bermagui" exhibition. This is an annual event, similar to Sydney's "Sculptures by the Sea". Only not in Sydney, obviously.

There's close to 80 sculptures dotted around Bermi's beautiful headland and in the surf club. Neither the Labs not I are knowledgeable about sculpture, or any other art for that matter, but we liked quite a few and would be happy to have them in our garden, if we had one. Others are open to interpretation.

From the sculptures we made our way down to Bermi's ocean pool just for a look, not a swim. We were lucky enough to spot a herd of seals, or at least their flippers, while they were "rafting" - where they wave their flippers in the air to help regulate their body temperature.

It was a lovely day's outing in beautiful autumn sunshine. All canines and humans now appropriately pooped.

Wow! Another great story and absolutely fantastic art. Thanks for sharing Barb. And then there’s Juddy looking like you’ve committed some dastardly deed on her! Get well soon Juddy!

Replying to

Well, I had left her in the car while I clambered down (and back up) 50 metres of cliff steps to see the ocean pool. So fair enough I guess. Protecting her new bionic (and very costly) knee doesn’t really justify being left behind…
